![]() ![]() ![]() I remembered the game to be way prettier even for ps3 standards back than for games like that. It's actually playable, I just don't like the resolution I get. I'd recommend you guys do the same, but first try out the emulator. Next buy after finishing the darkness II on pc again is buying the xbox360 copy second-hand for 5 euro's. Which, isn't the way I want to play persé, but after selling my ps3 ages ago I can't complain as I got an xbox 360 for free and the darkness 1 is basically a game you'd find in the bin of cheap ass 'chitty' games, but than there it is. Now, I've been playing the darkness 1 on the Ps3 emulator recently and it's just wonderful what they accomplished if you tried to play the game a couple years ago, it's actually playable now. It's a more arcady go there shoot this and do that game like timesplitters interduced and many games followed suite but I'm not saying that's abad thing because I love them both for much. I actually feel like it's on eof the more better games gun feel wise. The gameplay, and definitely gun play, is far better in the darkness 2. Not to mention the beautiful vistas of hell and gore. The story is insanly good, the part where you go back to WW1, killing werhmacht soldiers in the trenches with your darkness powers and a bold action rifle. Who tf actually did? Eventhough it's worth the price of the game alone if you ask me. I loved the story of the first game, the graphics were decent on the PS3 when it came out and as a 13 year old, I loved how brutal is was (girlfriend getting killed right infront of your eyes, after watching a black and white movie in full for god sake! Yeah, I really did, I mean didn't do that. Even though they are sequels, I almost feels its wrong to say one game is better than the other because they really aren't the same experience.įor the people who played The Darkness & The Darkness II, do you feel the same way? Or do you prefer one game over the other? Then in the next game, I love the gameplay, but didn't like the story/atmosphere as much. I liked the atmosphere, and story of the first game, while not enjoying much of the gameplay. Its for these reasons where I don't have a preference between either game. It seems this change was to make the sequel more inline with the comic books, rather than following the 'spinoff' story that the first game started, especially since the second game also went for a comic book artstyle that completely ditched the "gray & brown" of the first game. Having Jackie be way more talkative with a new voice actor really soured that image we had of him from the first game, that introverted, quite man. However, the story wasn't as strong in the second game. You have way more abilities, and ways to use The Darkness, gun play is much faster with now aim down sights, and being the game is on PC, you don't have to deal with sluggish analog controls, which was a big problem in the first game since it only released on consoles. Yet, in the second game, gameplay is so much better. It was basic 1st person shooters with some abilities with The Darkness. What do I mean by this? Well, the first game had decent gameplay, but it wasn't completely revolutionary or special. Sure, both games are a linear 1st person shooter about Jackie, and his adventures with The Darkness, but one is more like a movie based experience, and the other feels more like a game. I think the biggest thing for people is that both games are a different experience. These videos were essentially saying why the first game was better, and many seemed to agree on it.
